The story of the creation of “Step Forward”

The “Step Forward” project was born from the desire to create a place where every child and young person with disabilities could feel part of society, receive support, and develop their abilities. The idea arose from a deep understanding of the needs of families who face challenges in providing proper attention, inclusivity, and a comfortable environment for their children.

The main goal of the project is to build a barrier-free space that fosters the harmonious development, socialization, and adaptation of children with disabilities. The focus is on creating an accessible environment that supports them in overcoming daily difficulties and opens up new opportunities.

The project is supported by the team of RM “Caritas-Spes Ukraine,” which is always oriented towards the welfare and assistance of those in need. Thanks to the years of experience, professionalism, and compassion of the team, a unique program of corrective and rehabilitative work has been created.

“Step Forward” has become not just a project, but also a symbol of hope and change, inspiring society to build an inclusive future.

Creation of the "Step Forward" project In 2023, we began working on the creation of the "Step Forward" project, aimed at providing a barrier-free space for children and young people with disabilities. The idea for the project arose from the deep need to create an environment that allows every child to feel part of society, receive support, and participate in social activities. Over the course of the year, we developed the project's concept, which included inclusive programs, corrective and rehabilitative activities, as well as physical and psychological adaptation for children with various needs. This phase involved planning, resource preparation, and establishing partnerships with organizations that support people with disabilities.

In 2024-2025, the "Step Forward" project began to grow actively. We continued to implement new programs, expand resources, and involve more children and young people in our space. We are actively working on integrating the latest methods of corrective and rehabilitative support to ensure that every child receives proper development and assistance. During this period, we also organized several important events, including inclusive workshops, social campaigns, and sports games, which allowed children to interact freely without limitations and gain new opportunities for self-realization. We are also actively developing our community on social media, particularly on Facebook, where we share news, achievements of the project participants, and information for parents and partners. This platform serves as a space for exchanging experiences, mutual support, and promoting inclusive initiatives.

In 2025, we plan to further expand the scope of our work, engage new partners, and create more opportunities for the development of children with disabilities.
